Text: Luke 12:35-40, Romans 8:31-39 In an Instant.... Preached by Vicar Amen
In an instant, we fell into Satan’s trap and into sin. In an instant we deserved nothing but death. In a minute of our fall, God promised a Savior. A day like any other, and suddenly the birth of a baby in Bethlehem changed how the day would be celebrated. A Friday like any other, and the skies turned black, the Temple curtain was torn in two, and our Lord cried out, “It is finished,” and death was conquered. A day like any other and Christ was raised, conquering death. A day like any other, and you were baptized into his death...

Text: John 1:1-18 And the Word Became Flesh! Preached by Vicar Amen
In one short and shattering expression, God reveals the heart of the Christian faith. The place of God’s dwelling is the flesh of Christ. The tiny body of the baby that grew in the womb of the Virgin Mary, the infant body of the baby that lay in the Bethlehem manger, was the body of both God and man. First Sunday after Christmas |
Text: Galatians 4:4-7, Luke 2:22-40 The Fullness of Time Has Come! Preached by Vicar Amen

Cook a meal a little too long or not quite long enough, and the thing can be ruined. Or a fruit that is pulled off the tree too early is hard or too late is gross. It is all about timing. So it is that everything was ripe for the coming of the Son of God. And the picture before us today is one of the most vivid pictures in Jesus’ young life. The timing of the coming of the Son of God is nothing short of a miracle. The timing was just right. |

Text: Isaiah 9:6; I John 4:9 The Birth of This Child Is God's Gift of Love to You! Preached by Rev. Kenneth W. Wieting
Too often the message of Christmas nowadays seems to be that because a baby was born in Bethlehem two thousand years ago, you should love people more and do more kind things in this season. And if Christmas is basically about inspiring mankind to greater feelings of love and greater acts of service – then is it not an enormous bankruptcy in need of a bailout?
The baby born in Bethlehem, Jesus Christ, is your Divine bailout – undeserved - backed by unending resources! In Him you are sitting pretty – like a new born baby all warm and snuggly and wrapped up secure.
